Have you changed your last name or first name, lost your passport or has it become unusable? You need to contact the Administrative Service Center, a subdivision of the State Migration Service or the Passport Service Center with a package of necessary documents.
Can I refuse to receive an ID-card?
You can refuse to receive a new passport only for religious reasons.
In Ukraine, the first precedent for obtaining a passport of the 1994 sample was in the Zhytomyr region. On September 19, 2018, judges of the Chamber of the Supreme Court defended the rights of a citizen of Ukraine. By a court decision, the Migration Service had to issue an old-style document.
Amendments were made to the orders of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It is indicated if there is an appropriate decision of the court, the migration service bodies issue a passport of the 94th sample. It is necessary to apply with a court decision to the authorities of the State Migration Service for this. So if you wanted to get a passport of a citizen of Ukraine in the form of a “book”, but the migration service refused you, you have the right to go to court with a claim for the issuance of a passport of the specified sample.
The legislation states it is necessary to submit an application at the place of registration. But internally displaced persons have the opportunity to apply at their place of residence. We remind you if you need to replace your photo at the age of 25 or 45, you can paste it into the “booklet”. If you have missed the 30-day period you are given for sticking a photo, the passport is considered expired and you need to get an ID-card.
